This will also be an opportunity to meet our housing officer (Debbie Ming), our resident liaison officer (Chuks Amaechi), and our new councillors, Victor Chamberlain, David Watson, and Irina von Wiese.

Notes from the meeting:

• Works will start on the 31st for January for 26 weeks (mid July)
• Works will run concurrently on all three buildings (Applegarth, Helen Gladstone and Vaughan)
  
• The contractor (Standage) will send individual notices as to when balconies need to be accessed
• The communal flower boxes (which are asbestos) may or may not be replaced
• Drainage will be maintained similar to what was done in Rowland Hill House
• There will be a monthly resident liaison meeting

Due to COVID, we are going to take a different approach this year: we are going to meet outdoors by the monkey puzzle tree at 7pm to sing a few carols. We are going to have hot mulled wine and mince pies for everybody, but they are going to be handed out one-by-one (no buffet this year). The event will be much shorter than in previous year.

Now that Southwark Council have sold off the green spaces belonging to the Helen Gladstone Maisonettes and Tower to private developers, we feel the remaining small garden deserves extra attention to give residents a quiet green space they can visit.
